We moved to Spain in late 2006, leaving our daughter in the UK to starve. We live just about mid way between Valencia & Alicante in Orange growing country. Moving to a new country isn't as easy as you might think. There was a lot of beaurocracy to cut through, and it took a long time. In the summer temperatures by the pool can hit 110 degrees, but contrary to belief it does get chilly in the winter, especially at night. Last year it dropped to around 40 degrees, but we also get some pretty strong winds as we are half way up a mountain. And when I say strong winds, I mean its difficult to stay outside for any amount of time. Last year our satellite dish blew down off the roof. The view from here is spectacular, and although we are only at 300 mtrs we have a panorama of the mountains and also the sea 6 kms away in the distance. On a clear day we can see Majorca, and even the outskirts of Valencia.
